Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Recolor the Past, operated by SIA CrowFoundry (Reg. No. 50203733521, Mednieku iela 17, Sigulda, Siguldas novads, LV-2150, Latvia, EU). By using the service you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Recolor the Past restores, enhances, and colorizes photographs using AI. You can create a free, watermarked, reduced-resolution preview; full-resolution downloads require credits. As a courtesy, each account currently includes a limited number of free watermarked previews and one free full-resolution download; this free allowance is a gratuity, may change at any time, and does not form part of the paid service.
2. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. We offer optional two-factor authentication and recommend it.
3. Your content and rights
You retain all rights to images you upload. You confirm that you have the legal right and any necessary permissions to upload and process each image. You grant us only the limited, temporary right to process your images to provide the service — nothing more. We do not train AI on your content (see Privacy Policy).
4. Acceptable use
Do not upload content that is illegal, infringes others' rights, depicts child sexual abuse material, or that you have no right to process. We operate an automated safety filter and may refuse or remove content. We may rate-limit or suspend accounts engaged in abuse.
5. AI accuracy disclaimer
AI colorization estimates realistic colors; it does not recover the true historical colors of clothing, objects, uniforms, or locations. Results are generated automatically and are provided on a "best-effort" basis.
5a. AI-processed content labelling
Results are produced by automated AI systems. In line with the EU AI Act, outputs may carry a visible or embedded marker indicating they were AI-generated or AI-modified. You agree not to remove such markers where they are required by law.
6. Credits, pricing and payment
Credits are purchased in packs through our payment processor (Stripe) in EUR or USD. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable VAT where required. Credits are consumed when you start a paid job. See the Refund Policy.
7. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Latvia and applicable EU law. Mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence remain unaffected.
